The Context

A demand surge and an acquisition, at once

I walked into a demand surge and an acquisition at the same time: pandemic-era traffic climbing while an acquired platform needed folding in, on a product that wasn't yet built around its users.

I owned the strategy and roadmap, reported to the CEO, and led UX, product, and learning-development teams through the pivot without dropping the customers we already had.

Looking for a campground

Looking for a campground

Camper-facing search and reservations. I designed the patterns for finding sites by amenity, availability, and trip type, then booking and modifying without calling the ranger station.

See what's happening in your local area

Events and activities surfaced next to the campsite. Hikes, talks, festivals, and the things people actually go camping for, on the same screen they used to plan the trip.

Booking an experience

Reservations and event booking in one flow. Real-time calendars, capacity rules, and a path through holds, payments, and confirmations that didn't break on edge cases.

Create a design system

I led the design system that unified the AMS Camping surfaces. Tokens, components, and patterns that meant we shipped once and rolled to every persona.

Camping mobile experience

The camper's mobile experience: trip itinerary, navigation, notifications, mobile check-in, and digital permits. Built so it worked on a flaky cellular signal at the trailhead.

Campground staff interface

The staff console for day-of operations: arrivals, occupancy, maintenance tickets, and incident logging. Built around the tasks a ranger actually does on shift, not the org chart of the back end.
